Greetings from Hosts

  • Yashiro Eita

    Chairman.Nippon Charity Kyokai

  • Autumn is the season of art, and 2025 ParaArt International Exhibition is finally here. Many works by the artists with disabilities have been sent to us from many countries around the world. While lots of works are by Japanese artists, the exhibition is sure to impress everyone with its rich international flavor.

The judges, while struggling with the selection of works, have carefully considered the entries and are now in the final stretch.

I myself have practiced calligraphy since I was a child, and have written it whenever I was requested by other people. But when my work reaches people, they see it, and they give me their feedback, I feel happy, and it inspires me to put in even more effort for the next one. It also gives me great motivation. For this ParaArt Exhibition, there were some people who tried and submitted works they had poured their heart and soul into them, more than one time. I feel that the results of their efforts are evident in each work.

This exhibition is also supported by many companies, and we hope that your hard work will be rewarded, and at the same time, we ask for your continued support.

In Japan, we have experienced abnormal weather conditions, which are almost like hot summer blowing away autumn. I think it has been a tiring summer for all of you who have been battling with your paintbrushes. Let's bring about the refreshing, usual autumn of art with this ParaArt Exhibition, and enjoy a fun time together.

Lastly, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for everyone's efforts, and to everyone who has cooperated and supported in making this ParaArt Exhibition possible.

    Thank you very much.

  • Koike Yuriko

    Governor of Tokyo

  • It is our great pleasure to co-host the 12th International Exchange Exhibition of 2025 ParaArt TOKYO.

Art is inclusive, transcending national borders and ethnicities. It brings inspiration and excitement to the hearts of people. I would like to express my deep respect to everyone at Nippon Charity Kyokai, including Chairman Yashiro Eita, for their dedication to creating valuable opportunities for people with disabilities to develop and demonstrate their fine talent through the arts.

The works featured in the exhibition will again be made available for viewing online via the ParaArt TOKYO 2025 virtual gallery. This online exhibition will surely provide many people, including those who are unable to visit the venue in person, with a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the numerous amazing works of art.

In November, the Deaflympics will be held in Tokyo, marking the first time the competition will be held in Japan. In order to make Tokyo an even more inclusive city, a goal that we were able to make great strides toward thanks to the opportunity presented by the Olympic and Paralympics Tokyo 2020, we will continue advancing various initiatives, including fostering human resources that can communicate in sign language, expanding educational opportunities aimed at increasing disability awareness, and promoting the spread of new digital technologies for improved communication.

Let us work together for the realization of an inclusive society where everyone can embrace their individuality and lead vibrant lives. Your continued understanding and cooperation will be greatly appreciated.

In closing, I sincerely hope that the success of this exhibition will lead to a deeper understanding of participation by people with disabilities in cultural and artistic activities, and help advance diversity in social participation.
